Carrollwood

Carrollwood is an area located in North Tampa Florida. Not only is Carrollwood extremely unique in various ways, it also reigns as one of the most established neighborhoods in the Bay area. Developed in the 1950s, Carrollwood began as a place for the academics from the University of South Florida to call home, including the first president of USF, John Allen. Allen's wife, Grace, began the tradition of lighting luminarias on Christmas Eve to symbolize World Peace. This legacy lives on as a city-wide event during the holidays.
