Largo is located just northwest of St. Petersburg between Clearwater and Indian Rocks Beach. The city of Largo is an affordable, friendly town with tree-lined streets, award winning parks and one of the lowest crime rates in the state of Florida. The town was originally named for the largest lake, which no longer exists today due to the Cross Bayou Drainage District. Because of Largo’s central location and fertile agriculture, it quickly became known as “Citrus City,” eventually becoming the center of the area’s Citrus production. By 1970, Largo's population reached more than 22,000, and a new City of Progress was born.
Largo is located in the heart of Florida’s “Sun Coast,” only a short drive to the stunning Gulf Coast beaches, world class sports facilities and museums. The LCC offers a year-long calendar of over 150 events that feature community performances, and a diverse list of entertainers.
