hosted by Brandon Area High Schools and sponsored by the American

Within Brandon, families are exposed to a number of wonderful opportunities
and options that cannot be found anyplace else. There are a number
of major shopping centers, movie theaters, and activities such as
Golf, Swimming, Tennis, Ice Skating and other recreational
activities. The Brandon Mall is ever improving with expansions to
suit the growing Brandon community.
In the Brandon area, there are a number of gorgeous Golf and
Country Clubs, all of which allow for public tee times. In addition
to these well maintained and highly rated Golf Clubs, there are
several Driving Ranges peppering the Brandon Area, each offering
its own unique features, such as Batting Cages or Miniature Golf
and Practice Putting Greens. The Ice Sports Forum of Brandon is
the practice arena for the Tampa Bay Lightning, and it is not uncommon
to witness an inspiring practice by our Stanley Cup Champion team.
At the Ice Sports Forum, Children's and Adult level Hockey
and Ice Skating Programs are also available, as well as birthday
parties and the very popular Laser Tag Center.
There are also a number of athletic areas in Brandon including
Brandon Swim and Tennis Club. At the Brandon Swim and Tennis Club,
children can participate in Swim Lessons, Dive Instruction, Tennis
Lessons and Gymnastics programs as well as after school care and
summer camps. Several of the children who participated in swimming
programs, like Brooke Bennet, competed at the highest level and
won medals at the Olympics. There are also several choices for Little
League Baseball and Softball and Organized Recreational Football,
Cheerleading, and Soccer. Brandon has a tremendous soccer program
in BAYSL, or the Brandon Area Youth Soccer League. BAYSL offers
soccer for enthusiasts from age four and up! BAYSL sponsors recreational
soccer teams as well as select teams, where the level of competition
is higher. Even adults can participate in the action with the Adult
Soccer League. The soccer program is incredibly organized and is
affiliated with several soccer institutions including: Club Directors,
Florida Youth Soccer Association, USL, Tampa Area Recreational Soccer
Association and many other prestigious groups.
One of the most convenient features of Brandon is the location.
The proximity to the interstate in this city is incredible. Not
only does Brandon have unfettered access to I-4 (east and
west bound) and I-75 (north and south bound), but it has a unique
location where those two interstate systems connect. Brandon homeowners
also have the Cross-town and the Cross-town Express, a Sun Pass
only elevated highway that bypasses all the traffic during high
volume hours and takes commuters directly downtown. Another unique
feature of this highway is that it is all one way, no exits or entrances.
During the early morning hours, the Express leads directly to Tampa,
and during the 5o'clock rush hour, the Express leads directly
to Brandon.
Brandon is also home to a number of public and private schools.
Families have a great number of choices for education, and because
of Brandon's close location to the interstate systems, the
Tampa area schools can be easily accessed to make additional options
for Brandon Area students. The high schools within Brandon are all
highly rated academically and house some of the country's
best High School Athletic Champions. College students can benefit
from the location too, as Brandon is only minutes away from the
University of South Florida and Hillsborough Community College.
The Brandon area also offers several tutoring institutions and public
libraries to help students thrive academically. The Public Libraries
of Brandon are always looking for volunteers, making it the perfect
place for teens as well as adults to get involved. There are also
a number of programs and activities that are sponsored by the Library,
there are after school activities and Adult Learning programs available.
